2013-07-14 – Chief Scout Bronze Awards

bronze-award1On Sunday 14th July 2013 three Beavers from Peacock Colony and two Beavers from Philpott Colony attended the Chief Scouts Bronze Award presentation at St Mary’s Church, Greenhithe on a very hot afternoon.

The boys were called up to the stage individually and presented with their certificates all looking very smart. They did the 5th Dartford Scout Group proud as this is the highest award a Beaver Scout can earn.

Well Done lads! We look forward to seeing you all get the Silver Award as Cubs.Bronze

Leigh Pack Tredegar Allotments

Today some of the Leigh-Pack went to the Tredegar Allotments where we got a Fantastic opportunity to see the bees in some very stylish bee suits! We even got to meet the queen bee and learn lots of interesting facts about them. Then after, we got to have some famous Honey cake which was delicious. After the bees we went to the Allotments to learn all about wildlife and plants. The Cubs enjoyed trying to attract the birds with maggots and some even got some things to take home. After all this we had a packed lunch on the Community Patch in the lovely sunshine! We would like to say a BIG thank you for having us as we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and got to learn some interesting facts. I would also like to add that no-one got stung in the duration of this trip. 🙂

2013-06-21 – Leigh Pack HMS Belfast

cub campThe Cubs spent an enjoyable night on the HMS Belfast where they ate pizza and spent a night in 1950’s style Bunks. In the morning they had an interesting talk on the History of the Ship and got to have a look at the ship and try out the hammocks the sailors used to sleep in. Then we all went to London Tower Bridge and had a tour, which the cubs really liked. We really enjoyed this trip and it was a fantastic experience for the cubs. Thank you to the HMS Belfast for having us.Leigh HMS_Passport
