This weekend, blessed with warm, dry weather the 5th Dartford Scout Group represented Scouting in the Youth Zone at the Dartford Festival. We had a fantastic turnout from our leaders, running mini crossbows, paper aeroplanes, book & puzzle sales, face-painting and one-pole bridge.

A fair few young members turned out too to help and log some hours for their Kent Scout Volunteer Award, with a special mention to Charlie and Matthew for their extra effort.

A good number of potential members expressed an interest in joining Scouting at the 5th and it was also good to hear from young folk how many were already involved within the district.

Whilst not a great event for raising money, although @ £300 went in the kitty, it’s a good event for networking with the community, local Councillors and other youth organisations.
