badge201619th International Jamboree On The Trail  Saturday 14th May 2016

For the 16th year running walkers from 5th Dartford Scout Group joined the rest of the District walking along the Darent River Valley path from Sevenoaks to Dartford with members of the Group and their families joining in at various points along the way, including Otford, Eynsford, Farningham, Horton Kirby and a large Group of 24 from Sutton-at-Hone. Ages of participants ranged from 2 years – 72 years plus a dog or two.

The weather was kind, not to hot but dry throughout and every participant finished at Central Park Dartford by 4pm to be greeted with much needed refreshments and a badge for all who walked.

Well Done and Thank You to all participants. See you again next year!

2016-05-11 – Phillips Police Visit

kent_police1

On the evening of May 11 it is alleged that the Phillips Cub Pack did make their way, in a southerly direction, to the North Kent Police Station with the intention of having fun and learning about the police service.  We are assured that these allegations are well founded and with the photographic evidence below, to place them at the scene, the cubs were guilty as charged.

Many thanks to the Kent Police Service for allowing our young explorers to enter and leave and for showing them round the station and we hope they didn’t leave too much forensic evidence behind.18-05-16 081

Once again, a number of the 5th Dartford Scout Group represented us at the 11th National Scout Archery Tournament at Phasels Wood Activity Centre.  This year Delia led the camp and the team comprised of past and new competitors.  Well done to all who participated and a special mention to Matthew who took the shield in the U18 Longbow.  The full results can be reviewed here.

2016-04-27 – Loose Change Challenge

On Wednesday 27th April, Phillips Pack had a loose change challenge fund raising night.

All the cubs were asked to collect as much loose change & bring it in to make Scout badge signs & spell out “Well done Dave” for running the London Marathon & raising over £4,700 to be split between to the two charities.

All the money raised will be split between our New Hall Fund & the MS Society.

There is still time to donate to Dave’s Just Giving page HERE.

We raised £35.80 on the night. We will continue to collect loose change until our joint Cub’s sports day Friday 15th July.2016-04-27
