A ‘Silver Acorn’ award, which is Scouting’s good service award and only awarded after at least 20 years’ service, which should be especially distinguished and appreciably better than outstanding. Was presented to Del ‘Skippy’ Hurd at the Dartford District Scouts’ AGM on Monday 28th September by the District Lead Volunteer Neil Gearing.
I am sure I am saying a big thank you from all of us to Skippy for his dedication and support to Scouting over the many years he has been volunteering.
Many congratulations to 5th Dartford Scouts & Explorers upon achieving their Chief Scout Awards, presented by the Mayor of Dartford at a special presentation at the Mayors Chambers, Civic Centre. Alas some were unable to attend due to having already left for university, but their certificates were collected and will be given to family members in due course.
