37 hardened adventures from the 5th Dartford Scout Group’s Johnston ESU, Earley & Burne Scouts descended on Gilwell Park to attend the 2018 Winter Camp. Amongst our number were 6 leaders and two Ventures, Tara & Nora, from Dublin, who had linked up with us in a joint venture with Scouting Ireland. All the young people had a great time and new friendships were formed, which we hope will see a trip to Dublin in the not too distant future.
Having been nominated by staff at the Co-op in Chastilian Road, we have been awarded £4,615.60 from the Co-op Local Community Fund. Maggie and Paul attended the branch on Saturday 25 November to accept the award for our New Hall Fund and to talk with staff and shoppers alike about our plans for the future.

Each section is represented on a different month, with both current and historical photos and key dates for parades, camps and other events pre-printed. All funds raised come directly to the group.
Please contact your section leader to place your order.
Thank you to all our members for their innovated designs and drawings of our New Hall which they created as an activity during their sections meetings over the past month. These have been packaged together along with an artist impression provided by Chris from Explorers and submitted to Gilwell for judging.

This weekend the 5th Dartford Scout Group celebrated its Centenary – 100 years of continuous Scouting, where not even war could stop us….
Many thanks to Lyn Medcalf for arranging and coordinating the celebratory dinner at Hesketh Park pavilion, which was attended by Gareth Johnston MP & the Deputy Mayor of Dartford, leaders past and present, supporters and former Scouts from throughout our history. It was a really good evening and a great opportunity to share memories and stories. We enjoyed a fabulous Hog-Roast supper and a great live band.
