Another success for the 5th Dartford Players with their non-violent ‘Canoe Done It?” mystery, which was well attended as usual. Cast member Darren was the culprit on this occasion having sabotaged the canoe race for financial gain! However, he was rumbled and the only one to gain on the night was our New Hall Fund as the evening raised £469.24.

With a chill in the air more fitting to Winter Camp, 45 members of the 5th Dartford Scout Group ventured again to Thriftwood Scout Campsite in Brentwood for our annual Easter Camp.
The forms are out and we’re booking for Scouts/Explorers Summer Camp 2013 on a first come, first served basis. The plan is to catch a train on 27th July from Dartford with our bikes (all kit will be on the van) to Dover, travel to Calais, France and then cycle to
Once again, The 5th Dartford Scout Group are collecting the Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers, which help us to replace and maintain equipment. This year’s scheme started on 30th January and will run until 22nd May, so a much longer run than last year. The usual collecting box will be just inside the door at the hall for this years vouchers.
Today a fair number of our young members and leaders attended the Dartford Masonic Centre’s craft fair to assist with admissions and the lucky dip. As usual there were some fine vintage cars on display, crafts, gifts, chickens and eggs and welcome refreshments, which helped with the bitter chill. Always a worthwhile event for us to attend as we receive a share of the door towards our new hall fund and on this occasion, we recieved a cheque for £375.00!
