2013-10-03 – Philpott Archery

archeryThanks to the skills of the 5th Dartford Archery Instructors 20 Philpott Beavers enjoyed an afternoon of Archery.

Firstly they were instructed on the safety rules to be followed and the names of all the equipment to be used. Each boy was then given the chance to fire three arrows at the targets which had balloons attached to them. Several managed to ‘pop’ them and two golds were scored.

On the next round the targets were covered in sheets with random shaped markings. Before firing the Beavers had to say whether they thought they were going to hit a shape or go for the white background. Again we had a few success’s.

But whether they hit or missed they all thoroughly enjoyed being ‘Robin Hood’ for the day and learning a new skill.

Well Done and Thanks to Lynn, Maggie, Jim and Delia

We all hope you will come again soon.
