District Beaver Science Day Saturday 7th February 2015

The Oasis Academy at Hextable played host to Beavers from across Dartford for their Science Day to enable the Beavers to work for their experiment badge.

21 Beavers from 5th Dartford’s Philpott and Edwards colonies joined in what turned out to be a fun and very educational experience for all.

There were five Science labs manned by the Oasis Academies Science Teachers all doing different experiments including Forensic science, finger prints, lip prints and footprints. Acid and alkaline tests. Testing objects and making boats to see which floated and which sunk and the most popular of all was being taught the correct method of using a Bunsen Burner and actually being allowed to light them themselves.
