\"\"<\/a>Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between six and eight years old. They belong to the first and youngest section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Beaver Scouts on or after their sixth birthday. They can move to the next section, Cub Scouts<\/a>, between eight and eight years six months. Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They usually meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony and 5th Dartford has two established colonies; Philpott & Peacock. Some Beaver Scout Colonies also organise sleep-overs. These are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home. They take place in suitable buildings, often our Scout Hall or perhaps our District Scout House.<\/p>\n

When should I buy my uniform?<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n

Before buying a uniform, new Beaver Scouts should visit us for a few weeks to be sure they like scouting.  Once the young person, parents and Beaver Scout Leader are confident that the young person is enjoying scouting, they will be invited to become a member and invested.  The young person will then be required to wear a uniform for the ceremony and thereafter.<\/p>\n

Where can I buy my uniform?<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n

Your official Beaver Scout uniform is the same wherever you buy it, but you may well find it cheaper and more convenient to purchase from the shop at Dartford district Scout House<\/a> in Broomhill Rd, DA1 3HT, which is usually open on Monday evenings between 19:00 and 21:00.<\/p>\n

Alternativly, uniforms can be bought locally from TFS Schoolwear, 45 Spital Street, Dartford, DA1 2DX or John Lewis or online from the scout-and-guide-shop<\/a> or indeed on ebay<\/a>, where both new and preowned bargains can be had.<\/p>\n
