The present hall took 2-3 years to construct & was officially opened on 7th December 1963.

There are currently nine different scouting/guide sections using the hall each week, which equates to some 250 people people per week haveing the benefit of it’s facilities.
(NB> We need to calculate how many young people / hours / fun this equates to over the past 47 years).

Before the building of the present hall there was a wooden hut situated were the climbing wall now stands, however this was not the first hut that occupied the site, which the 5th Dartford has occupied since 1916 and nor will the present hall be the last. We are planning another and need the help and assistance of current, previous and future members.

It is understood that this is a long term project, which will require a lot of fundraising with effort from all members, sections, parents and sponsors, but it can be done as it has been done before.  If we all pull together, we will raise the funds.

If you are able to assist with planning, materials or in the building trade or able to donate to our fund or do something yourself to raise money for our new hall or have any ideas for new fundraising oppertunities, please contact our group chairman by email to chairman@5thdartfordscouts.org.uk
